According to Christian Today, the Android 5.0 Lollipop release would be coming soon to its mobile devices. The company had already rolled out its operating system to Moto G and second-generation Moto X Google Play Editions in the US just last month.
On Thursday, Motorola revealed in its change log that the next device who will be given the Lollipop treatment would be the Moto G first-generation.
"The next generation of Android - Android 5.0 Lollipop - has been released to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). We will be working with our technology and carrier partners to bring it to you. Our current plans for Lollipop upgrades include the following products. This will evolve over time, so check back for changes," the log read.
The changes thanks to the Lollipop update include Material Design, new animations, themes, widgets, new lockscreen, improved notifications, priority mode, better Interruptions, new Downtime feature in the Moto Assist, new flashlight option, and multiple user accounts, Latino Post reported. Lollipop also offers users to check how much battery life is left and how much time their phones needed to recharge.
Meanwhile, an XDA user who uses the dual-SIM variant of the first-generation Moto G in India shared a screenshot detailing the planned rollout. The screenshot detailed an invite extended only to the members of the Motorola Feedback Network. Android Authority reported, "It's truly incredible when one considers just how drastic a change Motorola has made in the past few years. Having once skinned its devices to almost unrecognizable degrees with the oft-panned MotoBlur, in the Google era, Motorola turned it into a lean, mean, customer pleasing machine. Considering that two of the companies 2013 devices are now running Lollipop so quick after the OS's release, it begins to highlight just how cumbersome some OEM skins are, although even Samsung has managed to get 5.0 out the door unusually fast!"
