Hit-series's 'Orange is the New Black' first two seasons were undoubtedly a success and fans are eager to know what the 3rd season set to premiere next year has in store for its avid viewers. Find out who will return for another wound who will have to say goodbye. Let's take a look also at what will happen to Piper and Alex's relationship.
Six months have already come to pass and Netflix has remained silent about the 3rd season. What we know so far is that the show is already wrapping up and that can only mean one thing-it's only about time when we shall see once again our favorite characters on screen. By far, the only thing that is known is what Jenji Kohan shared about the theme of the next season which is 'faith,' reported Christian Post.
With regards to the characters, various social media platforms are throwing questions about the fate of some of them. Some are quite convinced that the season will look into the relationship of Piper Chapman and Alex Clause. Alex is also believed to have more appearances on the show and that he will return to jail after threatening her probationary officer with a gun.
Despite the rumors about Vee reprising her role, Netflix has already confirmed that she will no longer star for the next season. She was supposedly dead after getting run over. Lori Petty will also once again reprise her role as Lotty, who met Piper on a transport plane taking them to Chicago prison in Season 2, reported Crossmap. Big Boo as revealed in a spoiler will have flashbacks and that could suggest that she may or may not be dead.
TMZ reports actress Lorraine Toussaint was seen on set of the hit-show while filming season 3, suggesting that she's back. That said, Toussaint is on board to be a part of ABC's "Forever," so it is entirely possible she's returning to the Netflix original series in the form of a flashback or for a few episodes to wrap up her character's story arch, reported iDigital Times.
There's more, 'Orange is the New Black' might be in for a big leap in order to give way to the birth of Daya. Actor Matt Gregory spilled some juicy information. "They have different ideas about what should happen, as we've seen before and that continues to come to a head as we get closer and closer to Month Nine," he said.
Some actors have also been upgraded to series regulars, such as Selenis Levya, who plays Gloria; Samira Wiley, who plays Poussey; Adrienne C. Moore as Black Cindy and more. Brook Soso, played by Kimiko Glenn, will also be back, while Danielle Brooks' Taystee will be getting a new story arc after her relationship with Vee back in season two, wrote Christian Post.
There are plenty of spoilers popping everywhere but it cannot be ascertained for now if these are all legit so fans can just wait until Netflix makes the official announcement and release the spoilers themselves. However, reports seem to agree that 'Orange is the New Black' will probably be back by June or July.
