"Game of Thrones" will air a 28-minute featurette on February 8 entitled "Game of Thrones: A Day in the Life" as part of the show's promotional material for its return. The premiere date of season 5 remains unclear.
Season 5 of "Game of Thrones" may not be out just yet, but HBO has not been slacking off on its promotion. The latest in the list is a featurette, IB Times reports. According to the site, the confirmed featurette, titled, "Game of Thrones: A Day in the Life," will include behind-the-scenes specials to be aired on February 8, 7:30 pm EST.
According to Tech Times, the featurette will be 28 minutes long.
IB Times says that though there has not been much information on what to expect from the featurette, it can be likened to season 4's "Ice and Fire: A Foreshadowing," which had 15 minutes of interviews and previously undisclosed footage. "Fans will most likely be looking for more candid cast confessionals like Kit Harrington's recent comments about the show's violent deaths," the site also adds.
Harrington's comment about the brutality and gore seen on the show is made on an interview with Radio Times, where the actor says he has no problems with the brutality in the show.
Harrington further mentions: "If we've got an appetite for watching these things on the news then you can't shy away from it on cable drama."
Radio Times also reveals that Harrington has already finished filming for season 5, with the actor teasing that it will be "phenomenal." "It's progressed in the right way story-wise. It's so brilliant this year," Harrington details.
One of the things to expect in the upcoming season is the appearance of a younger version of Cersei Lannister, portrayed by Lena Headey. Watchers on the Wall reports the show casting Nell Williams as the younger version of Headey in HBO's hit series. Williams may film the supposed flashback scene involving young Cersei and a woman called Maggy the Frog, the article theorizes.
As for when exactly "Game of Thrones" season 5 can be expected, it is all a matter of speculation as HBO has not revealed a release date yet. IB Times speculates that the premiere could be on April 5 or April 12.
