'Cosby Show' Mom Phylicia Rashad Supports Bill Cosby: 'Forget These Women'

By

The general public seems to have given Bill Cosby a guilty verdict already. His future TV appearances have been cancelled, his reputation destroyed, and his picture is now on the cover of most tabloids (and rarely with a positive headline).

But there are a few people still willing to support one of TV's most famous dads - the woman who once played his wife.

Phylicia Rashad, who played Clair Huxtable on "The Cosby Show," has come out in support of Cosby after the multiple rape allegations against him.

Said Rashad, to Showbiz411: "Forget these women. What you're seeing is the destruction of a legacy. And I think it's orchestrated. I don't know why or who's doing it, but it's the legacy. And it's a legacy that is so important to the culture."

Rashad continued, insinuating that someone was trying to keep Cosby off of TV, and using these rape allegations to do so.

"Someone is determined to keep Bill Cosby off TV. And it's worked. All his contracts have been cancelled."

"This show represented America to the outside world. This was the American family. And now you're seeing it being destroyed. Why?"

Rashad is not the only former "Cosby Show" star to lend her support to the disgraced comedian. Both Lisa Bonet and Raven Symone spoke about their former TV dad - the latter saying the following on Instagram:

"I was NOT taking advantage of by Mr. Cosby when I was on the Cosby Show!"

"I was practically a baby on that show and this is truly a disgusting rumor that I want no part of! Everyone on that show treated me with nothing but kindness. Now keep me out of this!"

As well, Keshia Knight Pulliam, who played Rudy Huxtable on the series, said the very same thing.

"He was awesome, he was the guy who made jokes with me to make me remember my lines... he's the man who inspired me to be such an entrepreneur... I feel that his legacy and all the great things he's done speak volumes," Pulliam said in a statement to Access Hollywood.

"Everything that's happened, it's so unfortunate, the whole thing is very, very unfortunate. I can't ignore the legacy he's built."
