The success of 'Guardians of the Galaxy' is beyond question and now fans are expecting a sequel of the franchise that became the highest-grossing domestic movie of 2014. Also it rekindled the interest of the public to another character identified as 'Howard the Duck.'
According to Christian Today, the premiere of 'Guardians of the Galaxy 2' was already confirmed by the movie's director James Gunn during Dragoncon.
"Yes, I'm writing and directing the sequel to #GuardiansoftheGalaxy for theaters July 28 2017. But first go see the first one out next week!"
The second installment will feature the character of 'Howard the Duck.' The character had a feature adaptation in 1986, produced by George Lucas, and was continued with mini comic series. So this this time around, the Duck may once again spark the interest of the audience and we may actually more of him in 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' reported Cinema Blend.
It has been revealed by Marvel Entertainment that Howard the duck will fall into the hands of the Collector, reported the Hollywood Reporter.
"Howard's first big case has taken him across the universe and landed him in the clutches of The Collector! But he's not alone as the very popular Rocket Raccoon is a prisoner as well! Have you ever seen a comic book sequel to a post-credits scene in a movie? Well, you will now!"
Marvel is using the Howard the Duck stories as a reflection of what's popular and their future projects. It is a response to the demand of the public for more of the character, and that may mean that the Duck will may find his way into James Gunn's 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' wrote Cinema Blend.
The Duck has already walked out of his cage and ready for another space action. Who knows? He might cross path with Star-Lord and the rest of the gang.
