'God of War' is one of the most successful series of games for Sony PlayStation. Recently it has been announced that the 'God of War 4' will be available in the market soon as confirmed by its Creative Director Cory Barlog.
The announcement was made during the PlayStation Experience at Sony Las Vegas, as reported by Therem. Barlog commented on this to answer a game fan.
The company however, warned that the information should not be divulged through a tweet from Sony Santa Monica's account:
"Don't tell anyone what @corybarlog just said #PlayStationExperience #GodofWar"
Other sources claim that the game is still under development and there are no further announcements about it. A good source also notes that the next game will not be a prequel to the latest.
IGN thinks it's possible that this could be that "reboot" that Scott Rohde was referring to after plenty of failures that Santa Monica Studio had to deal with earlier this year.
It's possible this could be the "reboot" Sony's Scott Rohde alluded to after the round of layoffs Santa Monica Studio suffered earlier this year.
Also there are rumors circulating around the gaming world that the next game will no longer circle around Kratos-instead, he will be a non-playable character who will be very formidable. However, when Barlog was asked if the game would star series protagonist Kratos, Barlog was unwilling to answer, reported IGN.
There's also a possibility that the new game will be titled 'Game of War 4' and that this game will bring in more gore and bloodshed as reported by Therem. Then there will be demons and new gods as new features.
Barlog also said that he hoped to be able to share more information within "the next year or two." So it means that fans may have to wait really a little more before verifiable information will be made available.
