Downton Abbey season 5 continues to whet the appetite of fans for more scandals, secrets, intrigues, and intense packed drama to unfold among their favorite characters that truly make one's Sunday night.
In the previous episode, Violet (Maggi Smith) and Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery) had to make crucial decisions that could create an impact in their lives forever.
Violet was accompanied by Isobel to visit Prince Kuragin where other Russian refugees living state of poverty are being sheltered, and he mused about how his and the Dowager countess' fates have turned out.
They talked about his wife, Princess Irina and told Violet about how and his wife got arrested together but she was exiled ahead of him that he no longer knows where she's now.
Violet told Isobel that Kuragin had asked her to elope with him in the past and she then ordered Shrimpie to locate a group of refugees in Hong Kong who work as servants, drivers, and dress makers. She said that she's helping Kuragin because she owed his wife "a debt."
Meanwhile, Lady Mary headed to London to grace a fashion show where she bumped into Charles Blake (Julian Ovenden) who invited her to dinner. There she told Charles she would like to be the godfather of her children but just not their father.
The following day, Mary met Tony to break up with him and Tony expressed his disbelief after they just spent a romantic time together in a hotel. She explained that other than the attraction that they have for each other, they don't have much commonalities.
As for Cora and Robert, the married couple seemed to be going through some rough time when Simon came back to the estate to look at Crawley's Pierro della Francesca paintings with another thing in his mind. And that is flirting copiously with Lady Cora who was very much flattered when he showed interest in her opinions about art works that prompted Robert to feel jealous.
On the other hand, Anna (Joanne Froggatt) dropped by at a place where Mr. Green was killed while she was on her way to deliver a note to Tony from Mary. A policeman saw her that the next day, he informed her that she was seen in the area and interrogated her where she was at the time of Green's murder.
