Fans were in for another interesting episode of "Castle," as things went from dull to deadly when a private investigation on infidelity turned into a possible murder inquiry.
The previous "Castle" episode, "I, Witness," had Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) go undercover as he was hired to do a private investigation for a new client, Eva Whitfield (Briana Brown), who wanted to check on her stockbroker husband, Cole (Ivan Sergei), which she suspected to be committing a liaison. However, the sleuth slid into a slippery situation when he thought he saw his client's husband killing her, after he decided to drop by his client's mansion and drop off a few pictures.
Without any proof linking the killer to the crime, Castle and Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) would proceed with their signature investigation methods to expose the murderous husband. Castle felt guilty about Eva's demise; however, the detective duo went on looking for chinks on Cole's statement until finally they discovered something fishy on his marital history. Everything would have turned out fine, if only Cole did not commit suicide.
Meanwhile, Castle and Kate continued with the investigation even with the death of the prime suspect. As it turns out, there were still some angles left unexplored as the two investigator dig deeper in to Cole's history revealing the missing link on their investigation, which links Cole's lawyer in the couple's murder. It was revealed that Cole's lawyer sought to exact revenge on Cole and Eva for the death of Cole's first wife who happened to be the murderous lawyer's sorority sister.
The next episode of "Castle" would be on Feb 09th. The series would continue to follow the exploits of "Rick" Castle, a successful New York novelist, who was permitted by the city mayor to do some research work for the NYPD homicide investigation team.
