"The Winds of Winter" may still be released this 2015 even after HarperCollins made a statement that it is not listed in their 2015 publication. George R.R. Martin commented that publication schedule may just irritate people and he'd rather deliver his books first before making an announcement.
There were early reports that HarperCollins, through Jane Johnson, made a confirmation that they are not going to have a 2015 release for "The Winds of Winter". According to these reports, Johnson said that they do not have any information on the delivery of the upcoming book. She also mentioned that it is a complex book which will "require immense amounts of concentration to write," she even added that fans should "appreciate that the length of these monsters is equivalent to two or three novels by other writers."
News broke out that the sixth installment for the epic novel "A Song of Ice and Fire" may not see a 2015 release. However a fan by the name of tyrion_draper took to Not A Blog live journal to ask the author on whether "The Winds of Winter" is indeed not scheduled for 2015. This prompted George R.R. Martin to make the following statement:
"I certainly hope that THE WINDS OF WINTER is not on the schedule of ANY of my publishers. I have spent years trying to persuade them all not to schedule my books until they are completed and delivered. Scheduling, and then having to reschedule and postpone, just pisses people off. I'd rather not schedule at all until the date is real and certain.
This flies against standard publishing practice, however, so it's a battle that I do not always win."
This leaves fans a lot of hope that "The Winds of Winter" may still be released this 2015 since George R.R. Martin did not rule out the possibility of its release in his statement, what he clarified to is the publication scheduling in which he do not always win. As with his previous statement last year, Martin will be straightforward to its release, saying that "When it is done, I will say that's it is done, on whatever day I happen to finish."
"The Winds of Winter" is the latest installment in George R.R. Martin's epic novel, "A Song of Ice and Fire". Fans are all anxious in its release date since HBO's "Game of Thrones" TV Series is slowly coming up with its storyline. Stay tune for more updates!
