"X-Men: Apocalypse" is scheduled to hit the theaters on 2016. Screenwriter Simon Kinberg confirmed several things for the upcoming films plot. New casts will join the film as revealed by Director Bryan Singer.
Considered as one of the best superhero movies of all time, "X-Men" has been a box-office hit since it was released in theaters. It will be no surprise if 20th Century Fox and Marvel Entertainment will continue to produce more "X-Men" films.
The post-credits scene of "X-Men: Days of Future Past" provided fans an insight on what they can expect in the next "X-Men" film. This was also confirmed by Simon Kinberg, the screenwriter for "X-Men: Days of the Future Past", in a recent report. According to Kinberg, the post-credit scene was indeed a teaser into "X-Men: Apocalypse" but the upcoming movie will not take place in Egypt. He also said that the next film will take place in 1980s and the Apocalypse shown in the post-credit scene will by then be matured and considered to be more menacing than Magneto. In fact he is considered as one of the worst villain for X-Men.
Speculations are also ripe on who will be the new mutants that will join the upcoming "X-Men: Apocalypse". Some reports state that Jubilee will be joining the film but there may be a deviation to her character since the projected timeline for the upcoming movie will take place before Jubilee can be a teenager in the comic. Another potential character that may join the film is Havok who is the brother of Cyclops. Havok has a lot of potential in the film considering that he is loyal to his brother and have an incredible power of harness cosmic energy and turn it into a plasma energy discharge.
The upcoming "X-Men: Apocalypse" movie will see the return of the cast of "X-Men: Days of Future Past" including James MacAvoy as Charles Xavier, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Evan Peters as Quicksilver, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique and Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert.
A new set of fresh cast will also join the upcoming film according to Bryan Singer himself. The Director tweeted that Sophie Turner, from Game of Thrones, will be portraying a young Jean Grey in the upcoming "X-Men: Apocalypse", and Tye Sheridan will join as well as the young Cyclops and Alexandra Shipp as Storm.
