We've gotten pretty well acquainted with the dinosaurs of "Jurassic World" already. Chris Pratt's trained Velociraptors. The Indominus Rex. Maybe even a T-Rex in there somewhere. But what about the human characters? Those, we've definitely seen less of.
Not anymore, however. As part of the viral marketing associated with "Jurassic World," we've gotten our first look at the film's villain. Well, the villain who's not a giant, rampaging dinosaur, anyway.
The character, Vic Hoskins, will be played by Vincent D'Onofrio in the film, and has made his debut appearance in a staff video on the Masrani viral site. Masrani, in the "Jurassic World" story, is the corporation that swooped in to wright John Hammond's wrongs and build a totally functional, non-deadly dinosaur theme park- the Jurassic World of the title. Hoskins is the head of security at the Jurassic World park, and in charge of the park's security forces- which resemble an armed militia rather than security guards.
Presumably, once the dinos break out and begin running amok, Hoskins will play a pretty major part in the film. But it's not yet clear what it is that makes him a villain. Does he have an ulterior motive, somewhere? Is he partly responsible for the dino danger? We're i the dark for now, but if we're lucky, a future "Jurassic World" trailer might include a shot of Hoskins showing off his villainous side.
And obviously, being "Jurassic World's" villain, it's history's safest bet that Hoskins will end up chomped by a rampaging dinosaur. But which dinosaur, and how? Previous villainous characters have met iconic ends in the "Jurassic Park" franchise, like when the scheming lawyer was eaten by a T-Rex while in the restroom, or when "The Lost World's" own villain became the baby T-Rex's first prey. We can only hope that Hoskins meets such a satisfying end.
