"The Winds of Winter" may still get a 2015 release according to recent news. George R.R. Martin's recent reaction to his publisher's statement may have hinted on the possibility of an early release for the much anticipated book. Leaked letters from the author also reveals major plan for the whole "A Song of Ice and Fire" epic novel.
George R.R. Martin recently reacted to the statement of his publisher at HarperCollins. According to Martin, he does not want to schedule his books "until they are completed and delivered". He further explained that scheduling and having to reschedule and postpone the release of the book will just piss people. He would have rather not schedule his book "until the date is real and certain."
The reaction of George R.R. Martin was against the "standard publishing practice," which he admits that he "do not always win." The said comment was against Jane Johnson from HarperCollins who revealed that they do not have any information on "The Winds of Winter" release date. According to Johnson, "I have no information on likely delivery. These are increasingly complex books and require immense amounts of concentration to write," but she also said that "Fans really ought to appreciate that the length of these monsters is equivalent to two or three novels by other writers."
The complexity of the upcoming "The Winds of Winter" may have been developed overtime. A recent report reveals the grand master plan for the whole "A Song of Ice and Fire" novel. Apparently, the book was originally conceived to be a trilogy and George R.R. Martin only added and changes his plot as he wrote the novel.
According to the report, George R.R. Martin's UK publisher posted on twitter a couple of images of a letter which was written by Martin. The said letter reveals details on the major plot and events in epic novel. However, the images were already deleted from the Twitter account when the news broke out.
According to the said letters, "A Song of Ice and Fire" was originally perceived to be a story for the younger generation in the books. George R.R. Martin intended only five characters to survive in "The Winds of Winter". The said characters include Tyrion Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen, Arya Stark, Bran Stark and Jon Snow.
George R.R. Martin stated that the five characters should live until the end of the originally conceived trilogy as stated in another report. This will allow his readers to see them "growing from children to adults and changing themselves and the world in the process." However, considering the radical changes in that plague the whole "A Song of Ice and Fire" epic novel, fans can expect that there will also be a drastic change in the fate of the five characters in the upcoming "The Winds of Winter".
"The Winds of Winter" may still get a release date for 2015 considering that George R.R. Martin did not made an official statement that he may not be able to finish the book by this year. With the recently leaked letters revealing the original plot for "A Song of Ice and Fire", fans can expect major changes in the much anticipated book.
