Along with such prediction from PCAdvisor comes several speculations about the possible specs of the Galaxy Note 5. For instance, Gizbot claims that the Note 5 will have an octa core Snapdragon 810 for CPU couled with a 4GB RAM. On the other hand, GSMarena concludes based on rumors that the device may run on an Exynos 7420 chipset which would have four Cortex-A57 cores and four Cortex-A53.
Samsung uses Exynos in its devices as part of its two-phased plan for reducing dependency on Qualcomm. The first phase seems to be the elimination of Qualcomm's chips from the Galaxy S series and Samsung's other popular devices. The second phase seems to involve the Galaxy Note series, especially now that Samsung is already working on successors to its Exynos 7420 chip which according to Business Korea is going into the Galaxy S6 along with Cat. 10 LTE modem.
Following the Galaxy S6, Samsung is expected to use single-chip solutions with integrated modems on their devices; and the Galaxy Note 5 could be the first beneficiaries of such a chip.
Other rumors say that the device will run on the Android Lollipop, while some predict that it could have Android M for its OS.
Rumors about storage options also vary from 16GB up to 128GB internal storage. According to PCAdvisor the 32GB storage capacity is conceivable and it might be expanded up to 128GB with external storage like a microSD card.
In terms of screen display, the device is rumored to have a 5.9-inch 4K AMOLED display. This would be a significant upgrade from the 2k display Note 4. If that is true that would be equivalent to a resolution of 2160 x 3840 pixels and a pixel density of 743 pixels per inch.
Another significant upgrade would manifest on the device's camera which, according to rumors, would come with a 27-megapixel front-to-rear ULL sensitivity rotator. It is also said to support up to 8k resolution video.
The Galaxy Note 5 may cost around $900.
