"The Young and the Restless" Headwriter Change Creates Better Storylines? Is Christel Khalil Really Leaving the Series?

By

This week's episodes of "The Young and the Restless" are geared towards creating better storylines for the major characters in the soap opera as Chuck Pratt takes the head-writer position.

The change in the show's head-writer has shown a dramatic and dangerous twist in the story of "The Young and the Restless." According to Christian Today, Chuck Pratt is now in-charge of the storylines, and has started with a week filled with danger.

One of the changes being rumored circles around Christel Khalil's character, Lily Winters. Lily's storyline is expected to undergo some changes after rumors surfaced that Khalil has been planning to leave the show since 2012. Apparently, no agreement has been made for her contract, which led to speculations that her character might be killed off in the plane crash. However, with Lily found alive, Khalil might still be onboard after a revamp to create a "better storyline."

Lily seems to be holding on to secrets of her own, as she awakens to say that Cane is lying. The survivors of the plane wreck also have some secrets yet to be revealed, as Hilary passes out before being able to talk to Neil.

Meanwhile, as the residents of Genoa dealt with a blizzard, an airplane crash, a collapsing cave, and a fire, unexpected events still happened, with Jack and Kelly having sex in a closet. Ashley confronts Jack about, but the latter refused to say anything, IB Times says.

Nick and Sage are also reported to have sparks flying after being trapped in a collapsed building, with more to be expected from the two in Thursday's episode. Shortly after, Jack is seen unconscious by Victor, while Avery saves Joe.

Avery and Joe also seem to be having a better relationship, with her "softening up" to him. According to the article, "Avery opens up to Joe and finds his support in tough times."

Prior to this, Avery and Joe are seen fighting because of Nikki and Dylan, Inquisitr adds.

As a building collapses, decisions are made on who will be saved. Adam tries and supposedly fails to rescue the unconscious Billy because of an explosion.

Revelations about Austin's death also surface, with Summer recalling killing Austin. As the people inside the Abbott cabin start to bicker about whether it is possible that Summer has indeed committed the crime, Mariah and Kevin come to a conclusion that it should be covered up. Courtney, who is initially shown to want to report what happened, eventually goes along with the cover up.
