"Deadpool" is all set for shooting this March as Marvel Studios and Twentieth Century Fox Films aims to slate its release date on the first quarter of 2016. As the film production comes near, its cast and crew are slowly being revealed. Morena Baccarin is one of the newest actresses to join the cast and she will portray the love interest of the anti-hero assassin in the upcoming film.
Marvel's new spin-off project "Deadpool" will star Ryan Reynolds who will portray an anti-hero assassin. According to a recent report, Reynold's character will undergo a procedure to cure his character however this will leave him twisted and scarred but he will gain his superpowers through the method. Tim Miller will be taking the helm in the action-adventure movie.
Morena Baccarin is one of the actresses who were shortlisted to portray the role of the love interest of Deadpool. Luckily the Homeland actress won the female lead in the upcoming film. Baccarin is not new to the superhero cinematic adaptation, in fact she is one of the recurring cast members in the Gotham series wherein she portrays Dr. Leslie Thompkins.
20th Century Fox has been very secretive with their film adaptation project and there are no clues on what Morena Baccarin will be playing in the film. However a casting call sheet for the upcoming movie was leaked online and Baccarin's character in "Deadpool" was described to be an "Attractive and worldly. Smart, tough, beautiful but a little bit broken. Nothing has ever been easy for her and she's developed a thick skin and cynical outlook. But she's not a victim-she may not have a great life but she's holding it together and does what she needs to get by. She's got a great sense of humor but it leans heavily towards irony and sarcasm."
There were speculations that Morena Baccarin will be playing Domino, a mutant mercenary from a government breeding program. The above descriptions may also fit Copycat's character, who is a shapeshifting mutant who works as a prostitute and a former girlfriend of Deadpool before he became the mercenary assassin.
"Deadpool" is slated to have an early 2016 release date. Filming will start this March with principal place of photography at Vancouver, Canada.
