After the show has been renewed by NBC, 'Law and Order: SVU' seems to be doing great. It was hinted that the next episode will feature a similar case to the late Casey Kasem's family drama.
According to Deadline, NBC is bringing back the some of their series, including of course the 'Law and Order'. It was reported that the longest-running drama on television set to enter its 17th season in the fall. The report also clearly stated that 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit' is up +10% this season versus last (9.5 million vs. 8.7 million), and is delivering its biggest overall audience at this point in the season in six years (since averaging 10.5 million in 2008-09).
While 'Law and Order': SUV is seen to be making big hits, the fans are already eager to know the upcoming episodes.
The Fashion&Style spoiled that the next episode of "Law and Order: SVU" will be akin to the late Casey Kasem's family drama. Episode 16 of the show is titled "December Solstice," Marcia Cross guest stars as the sixth wife of a fictitious elderly celebrity author named Walter Briggs, played by Robert Vaughn. The author's adult daughters accuse Cross' character of abusing their father.

"Celebrity author Walter Briggs (guest star Robert Vaughn) is the focus of a feud between his sixth wife, Charmaine (guest star Marcia Cross), and his daughters from previous marriages (guest stars Emily Bergl and Susan Pourfar). The fight over control for both his well-being and his estate becomes a criminal case when Charmaine is accused of abusing her husband. Meanwhile, Barba (Raul Esparza) struggles with his own family drama when he goes against his grandmother's wishes."
Meanwhile, showrunner Warren Leight posted a teaser pic from the next "SVU" episode onto Twitter. It shows Mariska Hargitay as Olivia Benson with baby Noah. In the previous episode, viewers have seen that Noah's father is Johnny D., a vicious pimp who was keeping minor prostitutes chained to the wall in the basement of an abandoned hospital.
