Even as "Sister Wives" season 5 finale on March 1 fast approaches, Kody Brown and his family of four wives and seventeen children are not having a break from rumors. Kody is accused of having his son with Robyn, Solomon, as one of his favorites, while most of his daughters do not get attention.
"Sister Wives" season 5 has been an explosive season after a big change happened in the Brown household. With Meri out as Kody's legal wife and youngest wife Robyn taking her place in what the family has explained away as legal restructuring, it was a surprise for fans to know that Meri wanted the divorce.
However, Meri's decision was not a complete shocker as according to IB Times, "Brown's first wife previously admitted that she is not sure whether her husband still cares for her or not." Unfortunately for Kody, the rumor only adds to his reputation as playing favorites among his wives and children.
Kody apparently prefers his sons over his daughters, Ashley's Reality Roundup suggests. Apparently, the issue has been talked about for years, but it is only now that it is getting some highlight. According to the article, "Last week's episode marked the first time that the issue of Kody preferring to spend time with his sons over his daughters has actually been addressed on the show."
In last week's "Sister Wives" episode, Kody admitted to being "more comfortable around his sons because he can roughhouse with them." Particularly, the anthropologist students mentioned Kody favoring his youngest son, Solomon, who he is seen spending most of his time with on-screen.
The article adds: "Some kids, such as Solomon and Janelle's oldest son Logan get a lot of camera time, but others, such as Janelle's 11-year-old daughter Savannah or Christine's 14-year-old daughter Gwendlyn, are rarely discussed and only seen in the background."
Solomon's mother Robyn took to Twitter to defend her husband. "I am grateful that he gets involved this way with his boys. He is a good father," her post says.
To add to the issue, Kody's Twitter talks about his son with Janelle, Hunter, who took after him as a state champion wrestler. In Touch Weekly adds Janelle expressing her opinion. In a Twitter post, she says, "Many fathers struggle with how to connect with their daughters." Furthermore, she mentions Kody being an "involved dad" who "adjust the interaction 2 meet the needs of each child."
