Amid Kody's relationship with his sons and daughters being questioned, his "Sister Wives," unite to defend him, with legal wife Robyn prominently defending him even from conflicts with other wives.
Kody's current legal wife, Robyn Brown, is first to defend her husband from the accusation that he prefers spending time with his sons over his daughters. For Robyn, coming to Kody's defense also means defending the time spent with her son Solomon who is allegedly one of Kody's favorites.
"Robyn explained that some kids just do not want sweet gestures like kissing, hugging and cuddling. She says that the younger kids obviously want the attention," Movie News Guide reports of Robyn talking to the anthropologist students who told her about the observation.
Despite the issues surrounding Kody's treatment of his kids, one wife has been notably absent on his defense. According to Enstarz, "Meri has taken to Twitter to remind fans that they will learn what exactly happened, and why things went down the way they did." However, there was no post coming to Kody's defense.
Before it was revealed that Meri chose to have the divorce with Kody, many speculated that Kody decided on the matter himself despite announcing that the "family" made the choice together. At that time, Kody's actions were speculated to be a show of how controlling he is of family matters.
Also, in January, Kody had an argument with Christine about a friend who told the husband to "ditch your wives and come back to the LDS church." According to Bustle, "Kody saw the incident as guidance along the path to spiritual righteousness." This did not sit well with Christine, who expressed not wanting to hang out with the family friend.
While Christine held her ground at first, she is noted to have changed her mind about the matter and in the end defended Kody from their Twitter following. Christine's January 20 status reads, "During the last two episodes you saw a fight between @realkodybrown and myself. Please stop beating him up over it!"
However, that episode was not the last to have Christine and Kody butting heads. In the most recent February episode, Christine reacted when Kody told Mariah that "longer courtship leads to a better marriage." Apparently, Christine felt offended because his courtship of her was "just a short amount of time." To this, Robyn also came to Kody's rescue with a clarification that Kody only meant his kids, not wives.
Conflicts aside, Antoinette, one of the anthropologist students who observed the family, included in her report that she "is pleased to see the kids so healthy and happy." Furthermore, Antoinette talked about Kody being "pretty balanced" with giving attention to his wives.
