March will be a very busy month for Samsung as it slowly but surely pushes through with its plan of international roll out of the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. For owners of phone variants from international Samsung carriers, that means keeping an eye out for their upgrade.
US-based carrier Roger and French carrier SFR are two international Samsung carriers that are expected to roll out the update to their phone subscribers either this month or in March. Since we are nearing the end of the month, the update will probably be released next month via those carriers.
Samsung owners in France, however, will have to wait until the second quarter as the Galaxy S5 mini Lollipop will be released sometime in April and June. Phone owners from Samsung carriers AT&T and U.S. Cellular Galaxy will have to do the same as the two carriers have yet to make the announcement of the release date.
The Android Lollipop update arrived to US-based carriers T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon with a weekly gap. This is typical according to GottabeMobile. However, it would be shocking if March comes and the update is still unavailable from the 2 US-based carriers.
For some the update is far from soon, especially phone owners from Australian carriers Vodafone, Telstra, and Optus. These have already released schedule for Android update but the 5.0 Lollipop is nowhere to be found in the list.
On a positive note, a new Android 5.0 Lollipop update has been made available to SM-G900F unlocked variant in Europe. The update comes with silent mode which was removed in the previous Android update.
The Android 5.0 Lollipop update is also expected to be available to several top devices including the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S4, and the Samsung Galaxy S5.
Note 3 owners in the United Kingdom, Hungary, Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Romania as well as NOTE 4 owners in Poland, South Korea and Germany have already received the update.
As expected unnecessary battery drain is one of the bugs to expect from the update. This can be solved by deleting third-party apps, especially those power hungry and those no longer compatible with the update.
