The PS4 Firmware Update 2.50 is set for an April release, yet leaks have come out after Sony held a beta testing on Friday. Sony invited Playstation MVP members to take part in the exclusive event, and it didn't take long for the features to leak out.
Rest Mode and Accessibility are two main features of the latest update on the beta version of PS4 Firmware Update 2.50. PS4 owners and users can now put their console in Rest Mode without closing any applications through the Suspend/Resume function. This functionality is a very welcome addition since PS users have been waiting for this for quite a long time.
The addition of Accessibility in the Settings allows users to adjust settings like zooming and button assignments. This will also let users to reassign or remap all buttons on DualShock 4 controller. The sources of the leaks, however, are not yet certain whether it will be universally available or not.
Share Play is also said to support 60 frames-per-second, accompanied with Facebook support to display friends in the 'Players You Know' area and send real name requests beside the default friend requests to users for easier tracking of players that are not in the friend list.
A new discovery section will also be introduced to help newcomers get familiar with all of the PS4 features. Note that only users running on system software version 2.50 beta can use this feature. Users can also test the connection speed of the host when starting Share Play.
Other improvements include the option to remove games from the user's profile, especially those that haven't earned any Trophies. Users can also search for particular trophy details online.
A shadow effect is also likely to arrive to help users see the text more clearly as well as more space for the profile's section.
An off-screen photo is also circulating in various forums showing how users can move their applications to another place. This will come handy for users that want to back up their hard drive to an external device. This is not mentioned in the beta's changelog, though.
All of these PS4 Firmware Update 2.50 features are in beta right now. Hence, these can change until everything is finalized for its release month.
