If there's one thing comic book movie fans are clamoring for (well, technically there are thousands of things comic book movie fans are clamoring for...) it'd be a first trailer for Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice. It was recently revealed that a potential trailer for the DC Comics blockbuster had leaked online, but since then there's been no news about the potential leak. No screeshots or gifs, no video proof of any kind. Given that evidence (or lack thereof), it's far more likely that the entire trailer was just a hoax.
And in that case... when will we finally see Batman vs Superman in action? Much of the speculation right now claims that Mad Max: Fury Road is the likeliest candidate for a Batman vs Superman trailer. After all, both Batman vs Superman and Mad Max: Fury Road are made by Warner Bros, and Warner would want to use two of its major blockbusters to support each other by debuting the trailer for one alongside the other.
Still, there's something to consider- most summer blockbusters usually debut their first trailer in the autumn/winter before they're released in theaters. We're still a ways away from autumn/winter 2015, so we could be waiting a very long time to actually see any Batman vs Superman footage. But, on the other hand, Batman vs Superman is anything but conventional, given its sudden release date swaps and controversial casting decisions (everyone from Ben Affleck as Batman to Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman), so it's not impossible the film would shake things up with its trailer as well.
And what would we see in the first trailer? According to the rumors, the leaked trailer contained snippets of Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and the Flash (Ezra Miller), but that seems unlikely for the very first trailer. More likely, it'll be something with just Batman and Superman. Now, all we have to do is sit and wait for it.
