"The Winds of Winter" may get an early release this July according to George RR Martin. The famous Author cancelled all his plans to attend the World Fantasy Convention and San Diego ComiCon in order to finish up the sixth book in his epic novel "A Song of Ice and Fire".
GEORGE RR MARTIN CANCELS CONVENTION ATTENDANCE
George RR Martin revealed in his Live Journal that he wanted to attend the World Fantasy Convention this November 5 to 8, 2015. Even though he is not a guest of honor, the famous author really wanted to go to the convention which will be held in Saratoga. According to the author, it is "A terrific town, wonderful con."
This would have been the second time that George RR Martin will be attending the World Fantasy Convention in the Saratoga but he opted to cancel out his plans to make room in his schedule. He pointed out that "I have too much to do. Too many things on my plate. Son of Kong foremost amongst them."
In his previous post, George RR Martin referred to "The Winds of Winter" as "The Son of Kong" and he is back at home working hard on finishing up his latest book. While he had an opportunity before to attend the Texas A&M, it seems the author is now dead set to finish up the sixth installment of "A Song of Ice and Fire".
George RR Martin apologized to his fans who expect to see him in Saratoga but he still encouraged them to attend the convention since it will be a grand event. The author also disclosed in his post that he won't be attending the San Diego ComiCon this July 9 to 12, 2015 for the same reason of clearing up his schedule to write "The Winds of Winter".
THE WINDS OF WINTER RELEASE DATE
As a final note in his recent post, the famous author left a teaser to his fans saying stating that "Should I complete and deliver WINDS OF WINTER before these cons roll round, I reserve the right to change my mind."
It looks like "The Winds of Winter" may get an early release this year considering that the two convention dates are set on July and November. Fans can still hope that the release date for the sixth book of "A Song of Ice and Fire" may be scheduled on July before San Diego ComiCon.
The publisher of George RR Martin also revealed the enormous content of "The Winds of Winter" and that the author is working hard on it. The latest installment in "A Song of Ice and Fire" epic novel is equivalent to three novels in length by other writers. Fans should really appreciate George RR Martin's dedication to the book especially that he is now sacrificing his public appearances in order to devote all his time in writing.
