Following the announcement of Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain's September release date, a lot of Ground Zeroes players have been anxious whether they could bring with them save data from the current installment to the next game.
Players will have the chance to still enjoy and continue the journey to a more exciting battle with the adversaries as Konami has just announced that save data in the game's prequel Ground Zeroes is still transferrable to the latest installment Phantom Pain.
However, there is a restriction on the transfers. One is, similar console family shall only be used for the transfer's endpoint. To add more excitement to bring the saved game, a bonus will also be given. First, detained soldiers in Ground Zeroes will be freed and will be included in the Mother Base. Second, a Sneaking Suit will be unlocked and all players can go back to their Camp Omega.
Despite reports that voice actor David Hayter will reprise his role behind Solid Snake and later Big Boss due to rants, fellow voice actor Quinton Flynn behind Raiden teased how Hayter wanted to come back for the next game. During the GDC 2013, creator Hideo Kojima had confirmed that a new voice actor will be cast, but this seems to have been revoked.
Meanwhile, Kojima has leaked a number of screen grabs from Phantom Pain showing Big Boss alighting from a helicopter, the AK series rifle and the grenade launcher which are way similar to those used by XOF soldiers during the destruction of Mother Base in Ground Zeroes. A renovated Mother Base has also surfaced.
A camouflaged helicopter also appeared which is mostly used in desert areas. According to Gaming Bolt, Phantom Pain will feature plenty of them in Afghanistan and Africa. Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain is set to release on September 1, 2015 on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox 360, and on September 15 on PC.
