"Hearthstone" will receive an expansion update this April with the "Blackrock Mountain". Lead Game Designer for the Blizzard Collectible Card Game, Eric Dodds, revealed the New Cards and the details in the upcoming Hearthstone update.
BLACKROCK MOUNTAIN DETAILS
In a recent interview, Lead Game Designer for Hearthstone, Eric Dodds, revealed the current direction of Blizzard with their Hearthstone Collectible Card Game. With the upcoming "Blackrock Mountain" update, the Hearthstone team intends to put a lot of diversity in the current meta of the game. According to Dodds, they wanted to allow players to build a dragon deck and the upcoming patch will revolve around the addition of Dragon themed Cards in the game.
Dodds said that "We love the idea of people building their deck around dragons. Up until now, you could put Ysera or Alexstrasza in your deck, but we wanted to support that a bit more. We actually really like the idea of adding new cards that make you want to play the old ones again."
However this does not spell that the game intends to abandon their Curse of Naxxramas and Goblin vs Genomes update. Hearthstone development team only wanted to bring back the attention to cards which are often overshadowed by the new cards. "Blackrock Mountain" expansion will allow players to see these cards in a new light. Dodds clarified that "We want people to look through their old cards and a light bulb goes off, and people suddenly have this idea of how to use them in an awesome new way. That's very exciting to us."
"Hearthstone: Blackrock Mountain" was previously announced at PAX East this March and Blizzard aims to launch it on April to start the second expansion for the Collectible Card Game. The expansion will feature a new campaign which can be bought just like in the launch of "The Curse of Naxxramas" expansion.
There will be five wings with a sub-boss and unique hero power. Players may be able to buy these "wings" with in-game gold or real currency. The setting of the "Blackrock Mountain" will revolve around the lava filled zone of the World of Warcraft. Players will have to climb up of Blackrock Spire as they attempt to conquer the "Blackrock Mountain" expansion campaign.
"Hearthstone: Blackrock Mountain" is the 2nd expansion campaign that will hit Blizzard's Collectible Card Game. Players can experience the campaign adventure and collect new cards this April.
