The sci-fi role playing epic "Destiny" became one of the more talked-about games when it was first released, but new statistics concerning the game may be saying that the "House of Wolves" update will be needed to do more than just add new content.
According to a report published by Twinfinite, more and more players of the game are opting not to commit to the game fully if gathered statistics are to be believed.
One of the more telling statistics gathered about players of the game said that only a shade over 31% of "Destiny" guardians have thus far equipped a piece of exotic gear.
The statistic is telling because exotic gear typically becomes attainable once players reach level 20, meaning the gamers may be opting out even before that benchmark.
A trend like that continuing could spark the end for the "Destiny" franchise, making the success of "House of Wolves" almost a necessity for the title.
So far, "House of Wolves" will reportedly add a new strike known as "Belly of the Beast." It will take players to the Ocean of Storms in pursuit of a Fallen Ketch, according to Ecumenical News.
The new DLC pack will also reportedly improve on the game's current loot and reward system to avoid players feeling as though all of their efforts were simply for naught once a game glitch came and invalidated what they did.
Despite a statistic which could be interpreted as a harbinger of doom for the game, it certainly appears as though all is well in the land of the guardians.
"Destiny 2" is reportedly in the works, with a target of 2016, mentioned in a report from Gospel Herald.
Until a new game is officially announced, fans of the game who are actively playing will still have an update to look forward to.
The "House of Wolves" DLC will be released in May.
