Since showcasing their fantastic dance routines and captivating chemistry on the famous show "Dancing with the Stars," many fans have speculated upon the relationship of the two. Recent reports that they had been dating and were getting engaged drove their fans wild and added more fuel to the curiosity swirling about the online realm.
Maksim Chmerkovskiy, 35, and Meryl Davis, 28, were stormed with dating rumors which all started during their time in the ABC dance competition series. With their chemistry and outstanding talent, the Ukrainian hunk and Olympic figure skater climbed their way to the top and eventually won the competition's Mirrorball trophy.
One source confirmed that there is more than just "professional chemistry" happening between the two. In fact, "They only talk with each other at the show and are really touchy and flirty," and, "He is always talking about her great body and has his hands all over her, even when the cameras are off." The two were reportedly, at a point, inseparable.
However, another source revealed otherwise: "In truth, there is no romance there. They're good friends, but nothing more. The hype about it has been fun, but it's not real." Supporting this claim, Chmerkovskiy asserted that the sensuality and chemistry he shared with Davis were all part of the showmanship that was necessary to make the competition.
He said, ""I am very close with a few of my past partners because they have played a huge role in a big part of my life." "Three months is a long time, and if I am going to give someone that much of my time, I am going to develop a relationship with that person," the champion choreographer concluded.
It seems like the engagement rumor was nothing but, well, a rumor. As for returning to the show, Maksim declared that he wanted Meryl to be the last person he dances with and several months ago, revealed that he was "done dancing" on "DWTS."
On the other hand, it has been recently reported this January that Maks is dating another "DWTS" dancer, Peta Murgatroyd, again.
