'Empire' Season 2 Updates: More "Love-packed" scenes and music in the upcoming season

By

Spectacular drama and suspenseful scenes have 'Empire' Season 2 one of the most anticipated Fox TV shows this year. After the last season ended with the Lyon family patriarch Lucious (played by Terrence Howard) going to jail, fans were eager to see how he would enact his revenge on the people who put him there. Meanwhile, both Hakeem (Bryshere Gray) and Andre (Trai Bryers) Lyon began their move to take over the family "empire" by staging a coup against Cookie (Taraji Henson) and Jamal (Jussie Smollett). (according to a report by the International Business Times)

Fans were teased a bit on what to expect in the upcoming second season of 'Empire' when actress Serayah McNeill (who plays Tiana Brown, Hakeem's previous partner) spoke about what she would like for her character in the show in an interview with Bustle:

"Everyone asks me what my dream role is and it's Tiana Season 2. Hopefully, she'll stay down with Empire, shake some more stuff up, and continue to perform. I'd like to see more of her personal side, more of where she comes from, and her personal issues."

Based on McNeill's comments, it would look like fans are in for a "love-packed" 'Empire' season 2. With a lot of romantic relationships being developed between the characters by the end of the first season, it is only reasonable that the show would be going this route. And even though it looked like there was a rift between Cookie and her son Jamal at the end of season 1, showrunner Ilene Chaiken told TVLine that she was still positive that the two would be reconciled, stating that the issues that both characters are facing "...is the most profound and tender one in the show, will somehow lead to something of a rapprochement between them."

No announcement has been made by Fox as of yet regarding when 'Empire' Season 2 will air.
