Mark Hamill returns to one of his favorite roles as the infamous supervillain known as "The Trickster" in this week's premiere of 'The Flash' - and according to an article from The Hollywood Reporter, this may not be the last time that fans will get to see him in the role. In fact, in an interview made with executive producer Andrew Kreisberg by the online publication, he stated that the plan ultimately is to team Hamill's Trickster character with other Flash villains in the near future.
It is quite interesting to see what would happen if the wacky Trickster teamed up with the likes of Captain Cold, who is known to be a cold and calculating individual. Things will surely get a bit out of hand, but one of the best things about the Trickster, at least according to Kreisberg, is that "no matter how crazy he was, he was so smart and he thought four steps ahead."
Many of Hamill's fans remember him playing Luke Skywalker, the strong-willed and kind-hearted hero of the original Star Wars trilogy, but what a lot of people do not realize is that Hamill was also responsible for voicing one of the most iconic comic book villains of all time in the small screen - the DC Animated Universe's Joker. Hamill is no stranger to the role of the villain, and he himself has praised the 'Flash' series' production team for their take on the characters in an interview he did with IGN:
"One thing that impressed me about the show is how smart the writing is. I mean, it's got the fantasy element, the comic book elements, but it's really strong in characters."
Hamill is one of the members of the 90's Flash TV series cast that was brought back into this incarnation. John Wesley Shipp, who plays Barry Allen's father, also played the titular hero 25 years ago.
'The Flash' airs on CW this Tuesday evening.
