First 'Insidious: Chapter 3' Clip Unveils More Demons; Poster Offers Ghostly Story Clues?

By

Ready to see the first clip from Insidious: Chapter 3? Focus Features has just released the first two-minute clip from their latest in the Insidious franchise, and it's pretty freay. In the clip, Elise Rainer (Lin Shaye), a psychic who's been asked to speak to the dead by a young girl (Stefanie Scott), makes contact with the other side... and brings back a warning that speaking to the dead is seriously dangerous business.

There aren't any jump scares in the clip (don't worry), but it's oozing with atmosphere and definitely makes Insidious: Chapter 3 seem like a freaky flick. And it's been released along with a new poster (seen above) from Rope of Silicon, which shows the stars of the film looking very, very scared. Given the poster's tag line- "This is How You Die," that probably makes sense.

Recently, it was teased that Inisidious might have a close tie with another popular horror franchise, Sinister (which also has another sequel, Sinister 2, on the horizon). The two might come together for a crossover movie, or maybe establish a cinematic universe and start drawing little connections between both films. There's been no news of that since the original tease, but it's still very possible the two could be coming together. Make sure to stay around through the Insidious: Chapter 3 credits- if there's going to be an expanded-universe teaser, that's were it'll be.

Insidious: Chapter 3 is a departure from the first two films in that it's a prequel, focused on developing the history and the backstory of the supernatural horror show of the first two movies. Along with Shaye and Scott (featured in the clip, it also stars Dermot Mulroney, Angus Sampson and Leigh Whannell- who happens to be the film's director as well. Make sure to check Insidious: Chapter 3 out this summer... but only if you like getting scared to death.

Insidious: Chapter 3 will premiere in theaters on June 5, 2015.
