The game developers of "Wasteland 2" revealed that the upcoming installment in the franchise that gave rise to the creation of other post-apocalyptic games such as the "Fallout" series would be running at smoothly 1080p. Meanwhile, a gaming enthusiast explains why a multiplayer would not work well in "Fallout 4."
InXile Entertainment Lead Engineer Den Jenkins confirmed that the game would run at 1080p in both the PS4 and Xbox One editions. He added that "We're a single-player, turn-based RPG, so our needs for performance are a bit different than other games, like multiplayer shooters. We are looking to strike the right balance in performance and looks for our style of game. We're currently running at 1080p and don't foresee any issues as development progresses," based on a report from Gaming Bolt.
Add to that, Jenkins clarified the eSRAM issues encountered on the Xbox One. He added that "So far, we haven't had any issues with Xbox One development in regards to the eSRAM or anything else for that matter."
Meanwhile, InXile Entertainment shared that it was the game "XCOM: Enemy Unknown" that gave them inspiration to create PS4 and Xbox One editions of "Wasteland 2." InXile Entertainment CEO and Founder Brain Fargo said that "their UI on console was the gold standard for handling a complex game in a way on console that was very satisfying," based on a report from Gamespot. He added that "We recognize that. We always look at the body of work that comes before us. We want to make sure we're looking at what gamers gravitate towards, and what they think is done right."
In other news, a gaming enthusiast explained why a multiplayer would simply not work in "Fallout 4." The argument on the article in Gaming Bolt did make sense as "Fallout 4" just like the rest of the games in the franchise would be a story about a wandering survivor in a post-apocalyptic world filled with inescapable misery. No one would want to see people turning the game into a weird feast of clueless explorers. It was simply wrong.
"Wasteland 2" would be released on PS4 and Xbox One later this year. However, "Fallout 4" was reported to be released sometime in 2016, depending on Bethesda's announcement on E3 2015.
