Analyst Ming-Chu Kuo recently said that the next iPhone would have a FPC-capacitive Force Touch sensor. There will also be no 4-inch iPhone model to be released this year. Meanwhile, Samsung insiders revealed that the next iPhone would have an A9 chip manufactured by Samsung. In fact, the manufacturing will be at South Korea. Further, Jony Ive was cited that Apple is not considering a "higher battery life."
According to a post by Macworld, Apple could release three iPhones in September 2015, similar to what the company has been doing almost every year. These three devices could come in three versions of iPhone 7: a 4.7-inch iPhone 7; a 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus; and a 4-inch iPhone 7 Mini. It could also have the same dimensions as to the current iPhone released.
Macworld also cited Jony Ive's comment that Apple is not considering a "higher battery life to be worth significant sacrifices in other areas." This reportedly implies that the iPhone 7 could have a better battery life, but not much better.
A higher screen resolution could be possible. It was mentioned that Apple might apply the pixel density of the iPhone 6 Plus to all upcoming iPhone versions, and perhaps it could have better density.
It was also rumored that the iPhone 7 could have a dual-lens camera that offers a picture quality similar to DSLR cameras. It was said that this is "perfectly convincing." However, for the iPhone 7 to get a USB-C port is reportedly unlikely.
For the possibility of the iPhone 7 to have a 3D screen, a curved display, or spring-out joystick in the Home button, they are not going to happen - although, it could be possible that the iPhone 7 could have an edge-to-edge screen, and wireless charging.
Meanwhile, recent reports by Bloomberg stated that Samsung is said to have won A9 chip orders from Apple for their next iPhone. The reports cited sources saying that Samsung is set to make Apple A9 processor chips at its Giheung plant in South Korea.
MacRumors recently cited KGI securities analyst Ming-Chu Kuo saying that the next-generation iPhone will be built with a FPC-capacitive Force Touch sensor, put at the backlight. This is a change that could be significant enough for Apple, according to the analyst. If this is be implemented, Apple could proceed in calling the upcoming iPhone as "iPhone 7" instead of "iPhone 6S."
He also said that the company was aiming to release 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch models.
Further, he said that it is unlikely that a 4-inch model would be released this year.
