Titanfall 2 May Have Single Campaign Mode and More Game Elements: A Glorified Expansion or An Honest Sequel? Respawn Continues Silence

By

News about Titanfall 2 continues to circulate online, especially after Respawn hinted that the sequel will have a single player mode. Though the game is specifically built to exploit the fullness of online play, having a good, single player campaign can round up a good game. Though with limited information about the game and the small amount of news Respawn is feeding to fans, Titanfall 2 sounds more like an expansion than a full sequel.

A peek at Single Player

The previous Titanfall game featured a story campaign to add depth to its multiplayer feature, however it was not enough to reel in the attention of gamers. Luckily the game mechanics were somewhat playable, which increased the life of the game. However, with new titles being released, Titanfall quickly faded away. However as reported on Gamerant, Respawn 'may include' a full single player campaign in response to feedbacks coming from fans.

Long line of weapons to choose from

Respawn promises fans and shooter gamers alike that the sequel title will have more guns blazing and more weapons to choose from. In Titanfall, players are offered the chance to use an array of weapons and Titans, the mech-style armor that can blast its way out of practically anything.

However, Titanfall only offers three Titan chassis to choose from, which limits customization considerably. Though there is no confirmation of new Titan models in the sequel, Though no official announcement that Respawn will add more weapons to choose it is certainly a likely possibility. So if the Titan is regarded as a weapon of choice and if Respawn will indeed add new weapons or just relegate to reusing old weapons without adding anything new, gamers are in store for more robots to play with.

A multiplatform release

Titanfall was released as an exclusive for Xbox last year, however due to its limited gameplay, an almost non-existent storyline, according to gamer feedbacks and the fact that cooler games have been released, it was a flash in the pan. Respawn can adjust their limitations by not only adding a significant amount of storyline but release the game across different platforms, though they are silent about everything. One can only hope that the next Titanfall title will be released not only for the Xbox One but on the PS4 and PC as well.

Many are still skeptical on what kind of game revamp, Respawn is working on, but many fear that the content revealed for Titanfall 2 is more of an expansion than a 'real' sequel. Nevertheless, Respawn is feeding the online community with reveals of Titanfall 2 and shows no sign of slowing down.
