'American Crime Story' Season 1 is coming really soon! Ryan Murphy, the creator of hit TV show American Horror Story is bringing another promising show among viewers around the world. A true crime anthology which will follow a similar format to AHS, American Horror Story is slated to debut on cable network FX later this year. The first season will be subtitled The People vs O.J. which will focus on the story of OJ Simpson and the killing of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Lyle Goldman. American Crime Story will be taking a look at real life crime stories, one for every season.
After the announcement that FX has ordered for 10 episodes for the said show, the names of possible cast members started appearing online and have been confirmed later on. As it stands, Cuba Gooding Jr. will play O.J. Simpson. Sarah Paulson, a name that has been tied to Murphy's other creation, will play the role of Marcia Clark here, the head prosecutor for the trial. Opposite her is John Travolta who will play the role of celebrity defense attorney Robert Shapiro. Aside from that, Travolta will also be a producer for the show.
David Schwimmer of Friends fame is also tabbed to play defense attorney Robert Kardashian. Joining them is Courtney B. Vance who will step into the role of being Johnnie L Cochran, Jr. The latest confirmed addition to the cast is Connie Britton. Murphy recently tweeted that Britton will play the role of Faye Resnick, Nicole's friend.
This will not be the first time that Britton will be working with Murphy. They have already established a good working relationship when Britton was cast as the female lead in the first season of the American Horror Story drama series. Her performance for that season earned her a nomination for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie. Will this pairing make American Crime Story as popular as AHS? We have to wait until later this year to find out.
