By

Fans of English rap musician and "Game of Thrones" actor Ed Skrein had been kept in the dark as to what his role will be in the upcoming "Deadpool" movie adaptation. With production officially set in motion fetching in new information from the set, it comes to no surprise that the 32-year-old Londoner no longer kept mum about what superhuman he will be portraying.

Skrein recently took to Twitter to formally announce that he will be playing Weapon X's Ajax. The villain who is only known by the name of "Francis" is a former enforcer with enhanced superstrength and intuitive capabilities. Comic book fans have been acquainted with his superhuman speed and high tolerance to pain after he received implants. It still remains to be seen how the film's premise will conduct Ajax's biography.

Deadpool was one of those comic book adaptations that had long been perpetually stuck in developmental limbo. For a long time, Twentieth Century Fox had been quite guarded in giving a "green light" to the project. The creators of "The Merch With A Mouth" had established the anti-hero to be way too offensive for an general audience, thereby resulting in a script that was "loyal" to the origins albeit unapologetically R-Rated. However, after a piece of test footage was leaked, rabid fans made a public outcry asking for the film studio to deliver a full length feature.

In related news, Ryan Reynolds who plays the titular role has confirmed that its budget will be considerably smaller than most superhero films as filming took place in Vancouver, Canada. The actor though has been all positive, despite the financial restrictions as he mentioned during an interview with MTV.

"We don't have the kind of money that most superhero movies do, but that's great, actually. Necessity is the mother of invention, and that's why we get to make the movie we want to make."

"Deadpool" is slated to hit the theaters in February 12, 2016.
