Diablo 3 Season 3 Now Starting Though Blizzard Not Specific On Season Lengths

By

Diablo 3 Season 3 starts on April 10, 2015 and everyone in the game will return to their starting positions. Characters who have leveled up considerably will vanish and gamers are forced to play again from the start. Blizzard introduced the "seasons" feature to give newbies a chance to enter the Diablo world without being steamrolled by far superior characters. However, Blizzard has yet to designate the exact length of one Diablo season.

Wyatt Cheng, Senior technical game designer in Blizzard posted on the Diablo forum,

"While we're on the topic of Seasons, I want to share some information regarding Season length. We generally feel that Season 1 was on the long side, and that Season 2 was on the short side."

Though nature gives at least three months for seasons to change, Diablo 3's Season 3 will last around four months, Cheng told gamers to, "Expect Season 3 to be at least 4 months long." This is ample time for hardcore and normal players to really squeeze out everything the season has to offer.

New rewards for Season 3 Top Players

One of the interesting goals for this season is the reward given to players successfully reaching level 70. Gamers that manages to advance their characters to that level will be rewarded with a "transmog set piece." Other surprises included new season weapons and items.

Time of Change

Season change will differ according to geographical locations,

North America: Friday, April 10 @ 6:00 p.m. PDT

Europe: Friday, April 10 @ 6:00 p.m. CEST

Asia: Friday, April 10 @ 6:00 p.m. KST

The length of this season will be around four months, though Blizzard haven't standardized the real length of a season. This may be due to development time lengths or to give gamers that feeling of an imminent end lurking or Blizzard didn't really planned to standardize a season length in the first place. Nevertheless, Season 3 is here and seasonal heroes must start anew.
