Empire season 2 Premiere, Spoilers: Will Jamal, Cookie patch things up? New series returns sooner than expected

By

Fans are anxious excited for the premiere of Empire season 2 following the show's major cliffhanger of its first season which reaped tremendous success watched and loved by many.

The good news is that executive producer Ilene Chaiken was not shy to tell reporters about what to expect in the second season while Fox Entertainment President David Madden has said that the musical drama might come back sooner than everyone expects.

Empire's two-hour season finale made fan's hearts race until the very last minute and though it has only been a few weeks into the show's hiatus, it is proving to be a long and torturous one. There are a lot of unresolved storylines like Jamal and his relationship with the rest of his family now that Lucious gave him control of the company, Andre and Rhonda's murder of Vernon, and Lucious being thrown into jail.

Executive producer, Ilene Chaiken, had a few things to say about the fate of the Lyon family in season 2. Chaiken, in an interview with TVLine, said that no matter what happens to Rhonda and Andre, if the truth of what they had done comes out, there would still be consequences to their actions.

This could potentially weigh on Andre since he found God in the finale, not to mention his disorder, or it could destroy that relationship with God entirely. Whatever the case, Chaiken assured that this event brought Rhonda and Andre closer.

In another interview, Chaiken talked about Cookie wanting to pull her family back together. With Cookie and Jamal's relationship, a relationship that has been a source of tenderness in the show, on the rocks, Chaiken said that she would be interested to see how Cookie and/or Jamal fixes things.

She also said that the two are not going to be amicable at the beginning of Empire season 2. Cookie has always wanted to put her family back in order and season 2 is going to see more of them now that everyone is against Jamal for being appointed king of Empire.

Finally, on what Lucious Lyon's fate will be in season 2 with him in jail, Chaiken told E! News that though Lucious is incarcerated, he will remain important to the show's story.

The premiere for season 2 has not been set but Fox Entertainment President David Madden said that it would not be surprising if the show came back midseason instead of making fans wait until 2016. There is also the possibility that it will come back with more episodes, which will be a huge treat to the fans.

What are your expectations in Empire season 2? Do you think Lucious Lyon should be allowed out of jail? What do you think about everyone being against Jamal? Tell us in the comments.
