With Terminator: Genisys premiering in a few months and Game of Thrones having premiered this weekend, Emilia Clarke is on the top of her game, her star rising higher into the sky. In her new role as Sarah Connor, Clarke is given a new challenge to give life to an old favorite but she is confident about it and really excited about the movie.
Emilia Clarke has said in an interview that her role in Game of Thrones prepared her for the action movie franchise. Though the fantasy show where she plays Daenerys Targaryen does not involve her carrying any weapons or fighting any enemies hand to hand, the amount of acting involve surely warmed her up for the scenes she has to do in the new Terminator movie. When asked if she was intimidated or excited by playing such an iconic character, Clarke stated that she was more excited than anything.
She said that it was fun to do something new while still maintaining the familiarity of Sarah Connor. Clarke mentioned that she looked back at the previous incarnations of her character, saying that she looked at who the character is in a very nuclear level and then molding the one she is doing now to the events that transpired before the movie takes place. As we all know, when Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) comes back to save Sarah, she is not a helpless waitress but instead a capable warrior.
The movie's premiere is still a long way away but fans are excited to see how it all plays out, especially when it is set to start a trilogy.
Emilia Clarke's presence could also turn a lot of people into fans of Terminator since her character on Game of Thrones is a fan favorite. There have been reports that Clarke could be paid more than Arnold Schwarzenegger because her name will attract a younger demographic than Schwarzenegger can.
Terminator: Genisys is slated to release and premiere on the silver screens July 1st.
