Aside from Apple's iPhone 6S and 7 and LG's G4, Sony Xperia Z4 has been the latest smartphone in the buzz reported to release this year. According to reports, Sony's next flagship device will release on April 20 with promising specs.
Although Sony has not announced anything official as of now, tech analysts say fans are coming closer to Sony's next flagship device. However, as Z4 rings a bell, some reports point out that it might be named Z3 Neo. Previous report from GSM Arena states that there is no more Z4 coming out, instead Z3 neo has been leaked via Twitter. Sony has just released the code name for the device, Sony E6553.
While @OnLeaks tweeted a press render for Xperia Z4 last month, another Twitter leakster called @ViziLeaks posted on the social media: "By the way, none of the 'Z4 leaks' are Z4 leaks. Sony has different plans ;) #sayhellotoZ3neo."
A Japanese tech site (via Google Translate) first dropped the big day for Sony Xperia Z4 due to its strong rivals Samsung and HTC have already unveiled their new flagship devices, the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge and One M9. Although there has been no concrete source for this, this means fans still has to take the news with pinch of salt.
Based on earlier leaks, Sony Xperia Z4 will sport a 5.2-inch display with a full HD or Quad HD resolution. This sparks rumors that two variants of Z4 might come out. The device will be powered by a Snapdragon 801 SoC with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and four additional Cortex-A57 cores running at frequencies of 2.0 GHz.
The CPU is accompanied by an Adreno 430 GPU, a massive 4GB of RAM, 32 or 64GB of internal storage which is expandable to 128GB, a 20.7MP rear camera, a 5MP front shooter, and an Android 5.0 Lollipop upgradable to 5.1. In another report, Sony might indeed be releasing the real Xperia Z4 device on another date as per marketing strategy to release two devices in one year. The date is clocked in September or November.
