Next-gen games ready for Sony's Project Morpheus? Upcoming PS4 firmware includes 'Uncompressed' screenshot feature?

By

Sony Computer Entertainment will soon be releasing a new PS4 update that would fix the bugs that came with Firmware 2.50, based on an industry insider's tweet. Apart from that, the media conglomerate gave an update on their latest virtual reality hardware.

An industry insider, Tidux, went on Twitter on April 09th revealing that Sony would soon be releasing an update for its next generation console, PS4, subsequent to the released Firmware 2.50. However, the tweet said that it did not have any details concerning what would be the fixes to be included in the upcoming update as well as when it would be released. Meanwhile, SCE product planning department manager Toshimasa Aoki responded on another tweet that same day to a fan who requested for "Uncompressed" screenshot feature on PS4; he said that "Thanks for the feedback! Will look into this," based on a report from Gamepur.

Sony had encouraged the gaming community to send their feedback on what they wanted to see on the upcoming update for PS4. SCE Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida had asked fans for their feedback on Twitter as well as presented some interesting details about the company's virtual reality hardware, based on a report from International Business Times.

Yoshida revealed in an interview with Official PlayStation Magazine UK some interesting details regarding the company's virtual reality hardware, Project Morpheus, based on a report from GamerHeadlines. He said that "Morpheus is designed to work with PS4 very tightly, and the beauty of the tech is that it just works. The technology works so well together, and that's how we can achieve things like 120Hz and less than 18 ms latency - we control everything. The use of Morpheus with PS4 will become much broader."

The hardware had also been reported to be compatible with a few games at the moment, based on a report from IGN. These would be "The Deep" (Demo) from Sony, "Eve: Valkyrie" from CCP and "Thief" from Eidos.

It was still unclear, though, when Project Morpheus and the upcoming PS4 update would be released.
