"Senran Kagura: Estival Versus" would no longer be banned from Twitch as opposed to it earlier stance on the video game due to the supposed "sexually explicit" content. Now, Twitch changed their mind and would be allowing the streaming of the game as long as gamers focusing on the gameplay's combat and not the "sexually explicit" acts or content.
The retraction of the ban came just a few days after Twitch gamers started getting randomly shutdown from their of their Twitch streams last week. The clarification regarding the streaming of "Senran Kagura: Estival Versus" was sent out over an email that was later shared by a Twitter user, based on SegmentNext. The email read: "[Twitch] apologize[s] for the earlier confusion. 'Senran Kagura: Estival Versus' is permitted for streaming, but [gamers] still must adhere to [Twitch's] Rules of Conduct when doing so. Per [Twitch's] rules regarding sexually explicit acts or content, the sexually suggestive scenes in this game should not be the focus of [gamers'] stream."
With that Twitch had warned that if gamers were caught showcasing the "sexually charged" content of the game, these gamers' accounts would be shut down and they would be banned from Twitch. In fact, Twitch had tried to contain the streaming of "Senran Kagura: Estival Versus" earlier by randomly shutting down users' streams, based on a report from NicheGamer. Twitch representative Hassan Bokhari had earlier explained that "[Twitch's] rules of conduct are pretty cut and dry. We do not allow games of this nature on our platform. If [gamers] would like to look for other streaming platforms to stream these types of visual novels that have adult content, then please feel free . . . This is not something we will allow on our service."
The controversy surrounding "Senran Kagura: Estival Versus" that caused it to be temporarily banned from Twitch was due to the scantily clad females in the game, based on PlayStation Lifestyle. Apart from appearing almost nude, some of the female fighters looked relatively barely of legal age that could cause some distress to some onlookers.
Then again, gamers should focus on the fight sequences and game combat of "Senran Kagura: Estival Versus" just to avoid diving in hot waters in the future. The game was released on March 26th for PS4 and PS Vita.
