After the Android Lollipop updates for AT&T's Samsung Galaxy S5, Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 4, the mobile carrier began rolling out the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update on its versions of Galaxy Alpha.
Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update has started rolling out to AT&T's Galaxy Alpha yesterday, including models with build numbers SKU 6621A, SKU 6629A and SKU 6630A. The update is 1GB which means a strong Wi-Fi connection is needed.
The software update can be downloaded via over-the-air (OTA) installation. Google shall notify available devices through AT&T and Samsung. It might come out in stages, which means it will be available to random regions at any time.
To initiate the update, make sure the battery is sufficiently charged. Head over to Settings > More > About device > Software update. Then follow on screen instructions.
Once the process is over, verify the update by going back to About device. Galaxy Alpha should now have a base band version G850AUCU1BOC6 and build number G850AUCU1BOC6.
Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update will bring AT&T's Galaxy Alpha handset with the following features.
- Improved OS software design with bold colors and bright contrast, and new complex views and fluid animations
- Better visibility for Recents and Calendar with new schedule view, new event with promoted action, while the calendar picker view has new dropdown ability

- Improved settings using finger swipe to access dropdown notifications and quick settings
- Screen pinning for a specific app or screen to keep it in view
- Share device for multiple user accounts setup
- New battery settings panel
- Removed SoftCard app
Android 5.0.2 Lollipop also brings planned fixes, updates and many other enhancements.
