Samsung is developing Android 5.0/5.1 updates for mid-range and flagship devices, such as Galaxy S6, Grand Prime, and more. Meanwhile, a YouTuber uploaded a water boiling test for the Galaxy S6.
SamMobile's insider tipped that Samsung is now working on an Android 5.1 update for the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, and Grand Prime. Further, it was confirmed that Samsung is currently developing an Android 5.0 Lollipop for the Galaxy Core Prime and Mega 2. The Galaxy A series are also going to have an Android 5.0 Lollipop update. Though Samsung has not given statements of the release date, this implied that the company is changing its course towards mid-range devices.
However, the tipper said that there is no development for the Lollipop update of the Galaxy Note 2. Nevertheless, it's expected that the Note 2 would get the update together with the Mega 2, though it is not guaranteed.
Meanwhile, Samsung's Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge devices, which run Android 5.0 OS, are also going to have an Android 5.1 update. Currently, these devices are shipped to different regions, and various retailers will be offering payment plans for the devices. With this in mind, Cricket has announced that the Galaxy S6 will be available in their stores and on cricketwireless.com on April 24 for $649.99. Further, the retailer also offers customers an initial payment of $19.99 for the S6, with approved credit, and a smartphone plan. There is also a 90 days same-as-cash payment option after a first payment of $49.99, without credit check.
Recently, Phone Arena cited TechRax releasing a video that tested the durability of the Galaxy S6 and iPhone 6. It dropped the two devices in boiling water for in a couple of minutes. The video showed, after 10 seconds or so, the iPhone 6 blacked-out, and eventually followed by the Galaxy S6. In the second part of the video, both devices were picked out of the water and went through a cold bath. The iPhone 6 seems gaining power, but later blacked-out. In the end, both devices got broken.
