Following the series of Android Lollipop updates for Samsung smartphones, mobile carrier AT&T began rolling out earlier today the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to it versions of Samsung Galaxy S5 Active.
According to AT&T's support page, the update is downloadable via firmware over-the-air (OTA) installation. The update comes in stages which means random regions in the U.S. will receive it first before the other.
Android 5.0 Lollipop update is 1.4GB which means a strong Wi-Fi connection is recommended over data connection. Update notification from Google will pop up through the AT&T and Samsung. Tap "Install" to begin automatic download then follow on screen instructions.
If the Galaxy S5 Active device has not been notified for the update yet, users can opt for manual download. Head over to Settings > About device > Software update > Check for updates > OK.
The device is now checking for updates. If there is an available update, tap "Continue." When a notification message pops up, tap "Continue." Once download is complete, tap "Done."
To verify the Android 5.0 update is already is the device, go back to Settings > About device. The Galaxy S5 Active should now have a baseband version G870AUCU1BOC5 and build number LRX21T.G870AUCU1BOC5.
