Rick Osterloh, Motorola's President, revealed the company's plans about the latest installment of Motorola X. As part of Twitter's #AskRicko initiative, Osterloh answered the question as to when the timeframe for the third generation Moto X will be released.
Evidently, Motorola will try to keep an annual cycle for all its products. The previous Moto X products were introduced in August and September, which most probably means the Moto X is on it's way for release in just roughly 4-5 months from now.
According to GSM Arena, Qualcomm and Motorola revealed the company's next flagship would be powered by the latest generation Snapdragon with 810 chip, a suggestion that the next Moto X will probably function on.
"Motorola Mobility and Qualcomm have a long history of cooperating to create amazing mobile experiences," said Osterloh. "The Snapdragon 810 processor will enable us to push the boundaries even further so we can continue delighting our customers with devices that give them new choices."
Although the Snapdragon 810 is advanced and able to provide quality service, the chip's downside is that it comes with a lot of overheating issues. Qualcomm is working on a cooler Snapdragon 815 processor and has officially introduced the Snapdragon 820.
This could mean that the Moto X might probably use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 815 or 820 instead of settling for the 810. In an article by Latino Post, it will be made available in smartphones early 2016 and is expected to make use of a new 64-bit CPU core called Kryo.
Based on an article by The Gospel Herald, Google recently updated its Android software version to 5.1 Lollipop and has begun rolling out the various devices including the Moto X. It doesn't matter which generation of Motorola X users have Lollipop 5.1 will be available for any.
Very little is known about the Moto X, but what we do know for sure is that it isn't coming with a fingerprint sensor ,Osterloh said he wasn't a fan of the trendy fingerprint sensors and felt that they weren't consistent enough for Motorola.
The 3rd Generation of Moto X is bound for release this August/September and we're excited to see what Motorola can offer something new in the table. Make sure to stay tuned for more future announcements.
