Empise Season 2 Release Date and Spoilers: 12 Episodes Announced By Fox, Plus Storyline For Oprah Winfrey Guesting In The Works

Ta' Rhonda, Cookies and Gabourney Sidibe, Porsha and Becky, have been promoted to full-fledged regulars of the series. Empire will officially return for a second season, viewers stay tuned for updates and spoilers to see what will happen to the first batch of episodes: Twelve.

The next season will stay longer than expected. Talking about deadline during the series' promotion in Paris, Lee Daniels, executive producer of the show, was with Taraji P. Henson, cleared that he is already making the story with Oprah Winfrey as one of their guest, in the Season 2 of Empire. They are also getting rapper, Common to join the set of guest stars' list for the upcoming season. Previously, the singer hinted that he will take every chance to star in Empire, if it is filmed in Chicago:

However, we do know now with some confidence that the second season will carry on a little bit longer than our desired order. Speaking (per Deadline) while promoting the series in Paris, executive producer Lee Daniels, joined by breakout star Taraji P. Henson, made it clear that there was going to be a compromise between the show's producers and Fox:

"I see Lee at the gym and they shoot 'Empire' in my hometown of Chicago," Common told Access Hollywood at the "Run All Night" press junket On Sunday, March 15. "I would be a part of it if it was something that was the right character. I'm all about being a part of really quality things."

Lee said that their feeling is like 18, at the moment, Empire could be compared to Sleep Hollow, and that will let the series to air in the entire fall with few hiatus, and then get a couple of weeks into the New Year before saying goodbye.
