After all the hype leading up to the release of "Mortal Kombat X," it appears all the effort was worth it, as the game now has the biggest launch in the franchise's history.
The news is signficant but hardly surprising for anyone even remotely aware of all the marketing that has been done for it by both NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
One downside of the game being as popular as has been is that connectivity issues are now popping up for some players, according to Bleeding Cool. Fans need not worry however, as "Mortal Kombat" creator Ed Boon has said that the team behind the game is working quickly to fix and address the issues.
Aside from the making news for breaking records, "Mortal Kombat X" is also nabbing some headlines because of the recently released patch for it. Patch 1.02 is adding new content to the game, including some new costumes for the fighters, according to Gamespot.
Most notably, franchise favorite Sub-Zero will be getting a "Klassik" costume for a welcome dose of nostalgia. The patch also improves on several aspects of the game, including online stability, multiplayer invites, and localization languages. It also works on other game elements such as "Play Go," and "WB Play," according to Playstation Lifestyle.
Also fixed via the newest patch are several gameplay bugs players have had trouble with. The fixes are going to address throws and character specific moves.
For gamers playing "Mortal Kombat X" on the PC, they can use a specific to make the previously unplayable character Rain into one who can now engage in combat as well, according to PC Gamer.
Reddit user "XVermillion" is the one who engineered the mod, and by moving around some filenames, other PC players can follow his instructions to also make Rain a playable character. "Mortal Kombat X" is now out on the PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One. The game will be released on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 later this year.
