Vin Diesel's Confident Over the Coming of "Fast and Furious 8"

By

"Fast and Furious 7" is breaking box office figures grossing more than a billion dollars worldwide, the most for any film in the franchise. And it looks like fans of the franchise are in for a treat as well as an eighth installment could be in the works.

Vin Diesel sounds confident that a new movie for the franchise is already a given as he teased fans saying that Kurt Russell was cast for a story that will take place in New York. This suggests that a "Fast and Furious 8" movie could be already planned.

On the other hand, producer Neil Moritz maintains that there's nothing concrete about the possibility of an eighth film in the Fast and Furious franchise.

"Honestly, we're just bathing in the success of (Fast and Furious 7)," said Moritz in a recent interview. "We'll probably get together in a week or so to talk," he added. The addendum could be a sign of good things for the fans of the franchise looking for another film featuring the usual cast minus the sorely missed Paul Walker.

James Wan, the director of FF7 recently stated that he might not direct another Fast and Furious movie. His statement about Justin Lin coming back to close out the series could be taken to mean that the franchise could be nearing the release of its final movie.

On the other hand, Universal Studios maintained that "if people keep seeing them, we'll keep making them". This is in relation to their plans of making three more movies after FF7.

With talks of a possible sequel in the making, the movie's stars are interested in reprising their roles. Dwayne Johnson for instance said that he could "possibly" be back.

Vin Diesel too is ready to reprise his role. Cody Walker, Paul's younger brother could possibly be in the running as he helped complete his brother's part in the box office hit "Fast and Furious 7."
