"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" will be swooping in the cinemas in a few months and lead actress Jennifer Lawrence expressed her sentiments towards the ending of the franchise. She reveals that she has grown close with co-star Liam Hemsworth during the filming of "The Hunger Games" franchise.
Jennifer Lawrence started playing Katniss Everdeen for "The Hunger Games" franchise since 2012. The actress admits that she has become very attached to her role and to her co-stars Liam Hemsworth, who plays Gale, and Josh Hutcherson, who plays Peeta in the movie. The three were seen having dinner together, proving the strong relationship that developed among them while doing the movie adaptations of Suzanne Collins' book series.
In an interview, Jennifer said that she considers herself blessed for being friends with Liam and Josh as the two were by her side when "The Hunger Games" franchise changed her life. She is especially close to Liam whom she considers her best friend although she sometimes cannot believe that she is friends with a very good-looking man like Liam. The actress was reportedly very supportive of Liam while the actor was dealing with her breakup with former partner Miley Cyrus.
Jennifer Lawrence is also happy about the development of Katniss and Gale's friendship as "The Hunger Games" series progress. Jen said that both characters are in a very interesting place and it would be nice if the depth of their friendship will be tackled in "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2."
"I loved that. Katniss and Gale have such a rich history, which we've never been able to fully, fully explore to the extent we do in this film. Up until now it always more about Katniss and Peeta. But there are so many complexities to Katniss and Gale and that relationship because before Katniss went into the Games, Gale was the only person who really understood her and knew her because they grew up together," Lawrence said.
"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" will mark the end of the movie adaptation of Suzanne Collins' book series. Jennifer Lawrence is especially sad that the "Hunger Games" series is coming to an end as she became close with co-stars Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson. The three will be seen together for the last time when "Mockingjay Part 2" hits theaters on November 20.
