Game of Thrones excites audience with its vagueness of its numerous storylines that eventually falls into place in one way or another. In season 5 of this hit TV series, a lot of these plots are scattered across the story that adds mystery to George R.R Martin's A Song of Fire and Ice saga.
One of the most appealing scenes in the first few episodes of Game of Thrones season 5 is the rescue of Jon Snow by Stannis Baratheon. Many view Stannis character as vague for he lectures Snow about the necessity of being ruthless in order to rule and comes with that is the need to punish rule violators, nonetheless he refuses to discipline Snow for saving Mance Rayder. Stannis personality becomes more ambiguous as it appears that he is in the mission to convert Jon Snow to a real Stark and offers him the seat of the Lord of Winterfell. The invitation is not something anyone with thirst for power can easily decline but Jon decides to let him down to fulfil his promise to the Night's Watch.
As Jon Snow debates Stannis' proposal and reflects the ruler he might eventually become, another kind of "rule" is exhibited in Meereen with the capture of one of the Sons of the Harpy. This radical group borders being a terrorist and aims to remove Daenerys from power. One of the members of the Sons of the Harpy is captured and the new ruler ponders on what step to take. Ser Barristan argues it is best subject a man accused of a crime to trial than to clutch justice in her hands and prove her might to her people. This is where the excellent design of the Game of Thrones comes into play for Daenerys' reliability as a ruler with a heart is questioned after her dragons rampage the city and kill several innocent children. The stigma remains in the people's heart that it becomes more favorable for Daenerys to preach mercy and justice even if that tips prejudice to others.
