A possible major leak has emerged online for Mass Effect 4, unfortunately unveiling the game's key features, gameplay and premise, among other hefty details. The leak has apparently come from an unauthenticated online survey concerning BioWare's highly anticipated game. The details leaked however are still not confirmed nor validated to be accurate or be included in the final version for release of Mass Effect 4.
The unidentified Reddit user, who has now been deleted, revealed that a survey which he took regarding BioWare's next Mass Effect installment unveiled a substantial amount of information about the game. Many Mass Effect enthusiasts have confirmed upon the accuracy of the leaked details despite the absence of conclusive evidence.
However, it is still important to keep in mind that surveys are presented to test out ideas and therefore are not surely indicative of what will be showcased in the final game. It could be possible that what have been revealed in the survey were potential design ideas only and not necessarily coded features.
The unidentified Reddit user proposed that, for the up and coming Mass Effect 4, the game's setting will allegedly be taking place in the Helius Cluster, a cluster of hundreds of solar systems in the Andromeda Galaxy.
Other standout leaked details from the survey indicated that Mass Effect 4 will be distinctly separate from the previous trilogy and will even present a new hero, a "pathfinder" explorer searching for humanity's new home.
Additionally, several gameplay components from the original trilogy will still be featured in Mass Effect 4, such as the option to choose two teammates to bring with you on individual missions. The game will also allow players to "explore 100s of solar systems collecting resources, developing your ship, crew, and arsenal, while engaging in diplomacy in order to set up colonies, while discovering the mystery behind the Remnants and racing to secure their technology."
Based on the leakage, it also seems that BioWare, Mass Effect 4's developer, is bound to set up major technological feats, with the game apparently able to let players "transition between flying ship, to landing on planet, to driving Mako, to getting out on foot, all seamless with no loading screens." As you play through the game, you will recruit seven crew members with unique abilities and backstories. Like the previous Mass Effect games, pursuing missions important to these characters will increase their loyalty.
There are only but a few amongst the many other features revealed.
A concluding name for Mass Effect 4 has not been provided by BioWare yet, and the release date is also yet to be announced by EA, Mass Effect 4's publisher.
